We provide some of the most affordable quality transmissions in the industry, ensuring all of the transmissions we sell are in perfect working order.
Compared to the competition, we stand out above the rest with our in-depth and thorough rebuilding and remanufacturing process. For example, in rebuilding a TR-3650 transmission, we’ll take the entire transmission apart and sure every single part is either re-machined or replaced with brand new parts that exceed OEM specs.

We correct this problem by fixing every known defect in our remanufacturing process, resulting in some of our transmissions coming out even better than what you’d be able to get at the manufacturer!
You can’t beat our unlimited mileage, 5-year warranty on all the remanufactured transmissions we sell. Whether that's one of our Tremec 3650 for sale transmissions or a used TR-3650 for sale, you'll receive a high-quality transmission guaranteed.

Worn and non-functional parts are replaced, including 100% replacement of seals, bearings, and other common components.
Each remanufactured transmission is hot, cold, load, and simulated road tested using our proprietary dynamometer program.
All remanufactured transmissions are backed by the industry's best, no-hassle nationwide warranty.
TR3650 Frequently Asked Questions
How do I identify a TR3650 transmission?
You can identify a Tremec TR3650 transmission by examining the ID tag attached to one of the bolts that secure the rear extension housing to the transmission’s main case. If the letter “K” is the first character in the “TR” code of the ID tag, then you have a TR-3650.
What mustang has a TR3650?
The Tremec TR3650 transmission was introduced in 2001 as a replacement for the 5-speed T-45, currently used in the Ford BA Falcon and Ford Mustang GT. It is a five-speed overdrive transmission that was originally designed to fit a wider range of compact utility vehicles and cars.
How much fluid does a TR-3650 transmission take?
The Tremec TR-3650 5-speed manual transmission has a specification designating 3.0 L of multi-vehicle (ATF) transmission fluid. There was a change in the ATF fluid specified from the 2007 Mustang GT manual to the 2008 manual, which changed from non-synthetic Mercon ATF to Mercon-V ATF.
How many splines does a TR3650 have?
All factory Tremec TR3650 transmissions came equipped with a 10-spline input shaft, which is limited in the horsepower it can handle. We can replace your TR3650 with an aftermarket 26-spline input shaft, allowing high-horsepower applications and a significant power increase.
TR3650 History & Information
The Tremec TR-3650 transmission is a 5-speed manual transmission that was originally designed for longitudinal engine automobiles. Manufactured by Transmission Technologies Corporation, also known as Tremec, the TR3650 is rated for 360 ft-lb of torque.
From their inception, the TR3650 transmission models were used in the 2001-2004 Ford Mustang GT and Ford Mustang Cobra vehicle models. From 2005-2010, the TR3650 transmission was used in the S-197 Mustang with a remote shifter. They were also expanded to the 2002 Ford Tickford Experience AU Series 3 TE50 models in Australia.
Ford originally introduced the TR3650 as a replacement for their T-45 five-speed legacy transmission. They turned to Tremec for a redesign as their T-45 transmissions required a stronger gearbox that could withstand greater torque output, and the end result was the TR3650.
Overall, a comprehensive list of vehicles that use the Tremec TR3650 includes:
- 2001 - 2004 Ford Mustang GT
- 2001 - 2004 Ford Mustang Cobra
- 2001 - 2004 Ford Mustang Bullitt
- 2003 - 2004 Ford Mustang Mach I
- 2005 - 2010 Ford Mustang GT S197
- 2008 - 2009 Ford Mustang Bullitt S197
- 2002 Ford Falcon BA in Australia
Compared to the legacy T-45 transmission, the Tremec TR3650 features a robust 11-inch clutch disc. This was an excellent improvement over the previous 10.5” plate found in T-45 transmissions.
The TR3650 was further upgraded in vehicle models in 2005 - 2010, where the second-generation models received a hydraulic throwout bearing that was situated along the input shaft. They also received a revised design that mounted the shifter to the vehicle body instead of the transmission. These were superior upgrades compared to the first generation, where all they had was a cable-operated clutch fork and a conventional throwout bearing.
Regarding the technical specifications of the TR3650 transmission, the case is made of aluminum, contains a 10-spline input shaft and 31-spline output shaft, has a torque capacity of 360 ft-lb, weighs approximately 119 lbs, and takes Mercon XT2 QDX transmission fluid of 3.6 liters or 7.5 pints. The Ford MT82 transmission is the successor to this transmission.
