The AOD-E is different from the AOD because the shift points of the AOD-E are controlled electronically. In 1993, the AOD-E also received an upgrade to the 4R70W. In 2003, the 4R70W was upgraded to the 4R75W, providing it with more power handling capability while also improving its efficiency.
